Body shape #1 The pear.

The pear:

Also known as the "Triangle shape" the pear can be quite hard to define if you have then shape so if you're unsure just look to see if you have these:
  • Carry weight on your thighs? hips?
  • Have a small, defined clear waist?
  • Wear a larger size on the bottom then the top half?
  • Have narrower shoulders than hips?
If so, then you need to make sure you balance between your shoulders and hips. Jackets and tops that fit just above or below your widest area on your hips are your friend! You want to make sure you that show that small waist off, wear things like belts, empire lines, wraps etc. I found that the best type of tops you can go for are ones with the padded shoulders, puffed sleeves and boleros which obviously draw attention to them and make your hips appear smaller and balanced.

YOU SHOULD AVOID:

  • Narrowing leg, pleats or creases in your leg line, turn-ups in your trousers, wide or flared lg lies and pinstripe suits.
  • Details, patterns, pockets on your thighs
  • Ruffled and flared sleeves.
  • Pencil skirts or straight skirts.
  • Bags that sit on your hips.
  • Sloping or narrow shoulder lines.
  • Dropped waistline or dropped panels.
  • miniskirts or any hemline that finishes on a thicker pat of your body.
  • Ankle straps, kitten heels, delicate footwear, uggs and round toe shoes.

So, Every bodyshape has it's own characteristics which needs to be kept in mind when selecting clothes. Don't fixate on a certain outfit if your body shape doesn't flatter it because I tell you know, you will be very disappointed!
Here are some basic tips to keep back there when doing a spot of shopping:

Neckline: If you don't have a big bust you can get away with wider collars and lapels.

Sleeve-length: Cap , 3/4 length, dropped, batman, puffed, wrist or above are the best choice for you.

Tops & shirts: FITTED! this is a must have in your wardrobe. Wrap tops, empire lines, vests, waistcoats, breast pockets, big collars, any pattern and all shoulder enhancing. So much choice it's great!

Jackets: Lots of little detail, studs, collars, patterns, hoods, back yokes, back belts in the waist area and breast pockets all look amazing.

Coats: Trench coats. Cannot go wrong with trench coats, they fasten right at the waist making it enhance and flares out to give you a nice finish. Love it. Again you can go for collars, breast pockets and all that jazz!

Dresses: Definitely chose a empire or wrap dress. They make your body look amazing no matter how big or small your body is. Trust me!

Jeans: Dark bootcut denim. Enough said.

Shoes: Wear a pair with medium to chunky heels; platforms and wedgies are your best bet or go for a long simple colour knee boot with a square or pointed toe.

Bags: Clutch bags, shoulder bags that sit on your waist with a bright, chunky style to it. (with lots and lot of detail)

Swimwear: I say go for the high-waisted to extenuate your small waist. Go for something pretty plain at the bottom but the top go for wild detail to bring attention up to your boobies, ladies.

Just remember, every bodyshape it amazing and beautiful in it's own way! :)

Tips and tricks for your body shape!

Let me start off with a huge apology of being absent for so long. My life this past 2 months or so has been, college, sleep, food, college, more sleep and college. I have so much course work it's driving me mad! It's almost 12:00am and I am nowhere near tired sooooo I thought why not make a post since its been forever!

So, there are so many body types out there that it's hard to define yourself to one. Everyone is unique but we all fit somewhere in some category some how. We all know the 6 basic shapes that people go by. There's a very useful website which I used myself to see which is this Calculator. How it works is, you type in your measurements and it calculates what shape you're under. Amazing!

Now, I know that  you're all thinking "She isn't realllllly going to make one post on all of these shapes is she??" well, you're right. Since I want to go depth into making sure you know a lot about these I'm going to make a new post for every body type! So, if you're struggling to find anything on this subject then stick around because I will talk about your shape as fast as  possibly can and in as much detail as I can. These are most likely going to be uploaded daily. Have fun!:)

Comments, reviews, constructive criticisms are all welcome, thankyou:)!

P.S this starts tomorrow!!

OOTD (yes, again) Woolly jumper season.

Yes, It's January and almost February so obviously it's freezing! Unless you're super lucky and blessed to live in Australia and not the Greater Manchester. Sucks. Anyway, it's pretty hard to feel and look good whilst trying not to get frostbite so I thought I would show you today's outfit which was warm - and cute.

Clothes:

It's a plain, white jumper with little studs on the shoulder in gold. It has tiny holes (which the wind may get in) but that can be easily solved by styling it with a cute jacket or by putting a vest top underneath - which is what I did.

I styled it with a bronze key chain and one of my all time favorite necklaces. A mocking jay bird pin. It goes with almost anything. I love it!

I styled it with some plain, almost shiny leggings which are relatively thick to keep my legs warm. Yes, my legs are weirdly shaped let's just ignore that for now! I also used my fav shoes at the minute which are mentioned and linked in previous posts! Go check them out :)

Makeup:

(Apologies for my face. It was 7:00AM. Blame college) So for my makeup and hair, I went for a simple flick of the eyeliner with my natural shaped eyebrows and no lipstick. I used Vaseline throughout the day as I get dry lips easily which I recommend. For my hair I just did simple waves using my GHD hair straighteners and I was set to go!

Thankyou for reading, I appreciate every comment and like! :)

Makeup review: Eyeliner & Eyebrow kit.

So a couple weeks back I decided to go treat myself and go shopping, funnily enough I ended up walking past a new Superdrug. Well...almost, I did end up going in and having a gander around. I ended up spotting some eyeliner that I have been eyeing up for a few months so I decided to get it. Whilst I was picking it up, just like any other makeup obsessed girl, I decided to have another gander at some makeup and ended up buying another item (doesn't surprise me).
Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner Black for only £7.99 & this Beauty UK Hi-Brow Kit Multi for just £3.99.

Maybelline gel eyeliner:

I for one, have never tried gel eyeliner but it always appealed to me, I've always been the one to use liquid eyeliner. I have got to say, if you do use liquid then this will be a piece of cake! It come in a little glass-type bottle with medium length and slightly rounded brush so it's very easy to apply. If you get the shade black like I did, it does come out very dark which is what I was hoping for, it does apply easy but it's quite hard to remove, you remove it once and there's still a black outline (which just makes me look like I have no idea how to apply makeup) but it does eventually come off after a few wipes! So overall I would rate this product 9.5/10!

Beautyuk high brow kit:

Basically, I have recently been obsessed over having good looking brows. I mean, it's the thing that frames your face! of course they need to look good! This product actually stays on quite well for the low price I bought it for. If you're looking for something that will define your brows I wouldn't recommend this product because if you're like me, you may mistake the wax for highlighter...oops. But besides my silly mistake, I still really enjoy using this product. It comes with a flat angled brush to add the wax and a very similar brush to the eyeliner for the powder, it also comes with some cute little tweezers which are perfect for travelling with. The wax keeps your hair in place and you have three different shades to choose from - or you can mix&match! Overall I would rate this product a 6.5/10

Thankyou for reading guys, likes and comments are appreciated and if you want to suggest any brand of makeup/hair products etc for me to review and test out then just comment down below. Thankyou :)

OOTD - Checkers

Basically, I had a meal to go to and I didn't want anything too dressed up but I didn't want to go way too casual so my first thought was a dress and some flats. I didn't have time to take a picture of me wearing it but I do have the picture of the dress and shoes and the rest is pretty simple.

So, the dress I bought from internationale and you can get it in the store or online here! and it's only £16.99! It goes great with and gold jewelry and anything black or white.

All I worn with that is thick black tight where you can buy from anywhere! some black doc's and a simple gold chain necklace. Sory about the quality and such it will get better over time.

Comments and feedback appreciated! thankyou! :)

OOTD - Floral.

You may not know, but I'm quite awkward when taking selfies and at the minute by camera is broke so you'll have to make-do with my phone camera.
 Image
This is as good as it's going to get. I'm actually wearing boots but it's not too obvious on here, they're from International and were around £27, I can't find the actual shoes online so I found a pair very similar from Topshop for £36. They're surprisingly really comfortable and easy to walk in - and that's coming from a girl who walks in heels like a chicken. They go with almost anything, skirts, pants, jeans etc and with every colour!
Next, all I am wearing are some Disco pants. I can't really remember where I got them from but they are in practically every shop but don't fear if you can't find them because I have found a cheap, reliable pair online from Topshop, again.
After that, I wanted to get away from the colour black so I decided to go for something patterned. I've started to develop a love for floral this year so I wanted something which I could wear most of the year and since I live in the UK - being 'blessed' with cold weather, I thought a thin jumper would be appropriate. So I went on a hunt and found this lovely grey coloured jumper with pale pink roses on which doesn't clash with each other or many other colours. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact one on the website but you could always nip into H&M and pick it up for £8 so I found a very similar one from the same place H&M but for £14.99 which in my eyes, is still a bargain.
With all of these clothing items, you can mix and match and go wild but if you want the same outfit, go ahead and click the links and enjoy! Comments and feedback would be muchly appreciated. :)
